A ‘kilted’ guide will travel with you around the beautiful Heritage main street of Glen Innes where you will find over 20 heritage listed buildings and the stunning Glen Innes Parklands.
From the Royal Hotel built c1860 and holding the first liquor licence in NSW, the magnificent basalt stone courthouse built in1873 – that was just a year after the Adelaide/Darwin Overland Telegraph was completed and 7 years before the first Edison-Bell telephone was installed in Sydney, to the impressive buildings at the southern end of Grey Street built 5 and 6 years after the hanging of Ned Kelly – the CBD precinct of Glen Innes gives a glimpse of a rich and diverse history reflecting many architectural features and styles since the mid 1800’s.
